An Eudist Project for Togo
Meeting Formation Needs
As Christian communities grow in Togo and across Africa, there is an increasing need to train locally those involved in pastoral life. The Catholic Institute of Theology of Lomé project seeks to support the formation of priests, consecrated people, and committed laypeople.
Theological and Continuing Formation
The ICTL is envisioned as a higher education institution specializing in theology. The project includes graduate-level university programs that can evolve with changing needs, as well as continuing education for pastoral leaders.
Planned areas of study include biblical, dogmatic, moral, and pastoral theology, ecclesiology, spirituality, and Church history. Tailored courses could also cover spirituality, the sacraments, or spiritual guidance.
A Partnership in Service of the Mission
The project is a collaboration between the Congregation of Jesus and Mary and the Archdiocese of Lomé. It aims to support students’ intellectual, spiritual, and pastoral development and contribute to evangelization and stronger communities.
